MEET YOUR HOSTS:

NIKKI BERGEN

Coaching_small_colour copy.jpg

Nikki’s passion for women’s health has guided all of her endeavours.  An inspirational trainer and creative educator with a passion for encouraging women to lead happier, healthier lives, Nikki Bergen is one of Canada’s most sought after health and fitness experts. A former professional dancer, Nikki has dedicated her life to creating fitness programs that create choreography from science, each one specially designed to enable women to ditch the guilt and bring balance to their bodies.

She’s the creator of The Belle Method, a Fitness Philosophy for Women with locations and teachers across Toronto.  Today Nikki is a Master Pilates instructor, Pre & Postnatal Expert, Labour Doula, Breast Cancer Rehab Specialist, and a compassionate Health Coach.  In 2014 she launched her first 5-part video exercise series, available online.

Nikki is also the founder of Elevate Retreats; leading transformational trips to Muskoka, Jamaica, Tuscany, France, and beautiful Nicaragua! She loves green smoothies, the Rolling Stones and grand adventures, and believes women are the all-powerful beings that will eventually heal the world.

Guest Yoga Teacher Nikki Collum

Nikki Collum moved to Nicaragua in 2012 to pursue her love of yoga and travel. She has since spent the last few years traveling throughout Nicaragua and Central America exploring various forms of yoga, meditation, body work and holistic health. These days, she happily calls Coco Loco Resort hOMe.

As a mama, moon lover and dedicated student, Nikki thoughtfully weaves themes and intentions into her classes. A mash-up of hatha, yin and restorative yoga, her classes are carefully designed to use the anatomical keys of the body to unlock mental and emotional blockages. She believes that yoga is a way of life and that through healing ourselves, we can heal and transform the world while inspiring and empowering others to do the same through our presence.

When she is not teaching yoga she is often found with her daughter Naia on one hip and her hands in the kitchen playing with vegetarian, vegan and raw foods.

Osteopath Florence Bowen

43.jpeg

Florence was first introduced to yoga and pilates in her teens as a dancer and competitive athlete. She was immediately intrigued by the holistic approach to movement and began yoga regularly to complement her intensive dance training. Florence furthered her experience as a contemporary dancer and obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University. Inspired to further her teaching skill set, she obtained her Yoga Teacher Certification in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga. Yoga has since become one of her primary forms of expression and has enriched her appreciation for the spiritual and mental manifestations in the body.

Dance continued to hold great significance in her life, and the fusion of movement, innovative choreography brought her to begin teaching The Belle Method. The philosophy of The Belle Method complements her passion for women’s physical and mental health. It also has enabled her to incorporate her passion for music and dance into every class.

In the spring of 2017, Florence completed her five years of study at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto. Whether it is teaching or treating, Florence draws upon her vast knowledge of human anatomy and mechanics to empower, inspire and motivate. She appreciates the inter-relatedness of the body and is focused on achieving strength with a balanced whole body approach. When she is not treating, teaching or up to her ears in anatomy text books, Florence can be found furthering her dance training in her living room. Mostly likely accompanied by Drake’s most recent banger, reggae beats, or any Cardi B anthem. As one of six children, she spends a lot of her down time cooking up vegetarian or vegan meals and enjoying wholesome food with her family.
